About This Peice
"Black Unicorn Poem" Anthro Con 2002 Print Version

This "Black Unicorn" or "Black Unicorn Poem" or "Black Unicorn in Monochromattic Purple" is my MOST famous of all my peices I've ever done.

I desided to submit this in it's Print form because I wanted to add the print. It's a good seller, so I figured someone at some point might like it on their wall, or something... ya know?

This version is the Print Version I made for Anthro Con 2002 which was THE BEST SELLING hard copy print I've ever produced!
I do still have some of the posters left, in limited amounts if you want one autographed by me.

The original Drawing is done in Grphite Pencils back in the 1990s whilest I was still highschool.

You can still find many other versions of this throughout my gallery. I'm known for creating severl color versions of the same peice, many times over... depdning upon my mood. That's actually common amoung artists, only, I actually publish mine online rather than keeping it to myself.

The interesting thing about this peice, is that even tho' it's composition is very simple, people contantly come up to me and tell me how much they love it. Some folks like it for it's simplicity, or because it's Purple, or the Unicorn on the mountain. A common motif... Other people tell me that the Poem fits them so well/perfectly. (Honestly, the poem is all about myself.) I guess it's just one of those things that just works... I suppose I could make blue or green or read versions and it would still work.

At 1 point, I wanted to try pitching it to get published by "Mead" as a Folder cover for school supplies, but they wouldn't even bother taking my calls, nor reading my e-mails... *sigh*

The thing about this peice which still surprizes me is that EVERYONE knows it! It's even more famous than I am.
So, many times I've met people, whom weren't even artists that knew the picture. "I've seen that before on the internet!" And, when they find out that it's mine, and that I illustrated it, they are in disbelief or astonishment.
It still gets me when I go into art comunities or art schools, and people look at my portolfio (even guys) and the reactions I get from people, because they know the peice.

Perhaps I should invest in some advertizments on Deviant Art for this peice.
Actually, I like the fact that we can all use the internet to share everything.
