Chinese Pinyin Spelling) "Du Jiao Qi Lin" is pronounced "Doo Djyaow Tchee Leen" (For English letter pronunciation speakers)

PRONOUNCED "kwee-lihn"!!!!!!!!!!! 
How many millions of times must i explain this to the same people over & over!!!!!! 
Side Notes: 麒麟 usually written in Pinyin as "Qilin" is also written as "Qiling", because due to variations in pronciation "g" can be added to some words. Proncing 麟 as "lin" or "ling".
Other Dialects would pronouce it as:Kee Leen
Kee Leeng
and various other pronunciations.
In Japanese it is called a "Kirin" Pronouced "Kee-Reen"**************************
This god is not just a 麒麟 (Qilin), it has 1 horn, thus it is a 独角麒麟 (Dujiao Qilin), meaning "1-horned" or "unicorn".独角= "1-horned" refering to a unicorn. (Du Jiao)
独角兽 = the term for "Unicorn" ( Du Jiao Shou)
麒麟= Qi Lin

Notes:
I started painting it more greenish yellow, and then I put allot of pink into it... somehow the end result still come out to be a golden Qilin.
BTW: IN China, the most common color is actually GOLD! Not green or white which I often see in online comunities. It's a much older drawing from 2002.I just needed something to do tonight...

独角兽 ( Du Jiao Shou ) Means "1-horned beast" refering to magical and godly, or "Unicorn".
There are so many kinds of these in Chinese mythology, like Unicorn Tigers, Unicorn Lions, Unicorn leopards, unicorn dogs or wolves.

The Qilin themselves are a very hgh level lucky gods.
Of the many times I lived in China, I LOVED to walk arround the cities and look at the ancient artwork.
The European Unicorn has differences depending upon it's time periods of popularity.
In the bible they are descrbed as feirce and deadly.
But, in some time periods in Europe they were seen as gentle.
Some versions of the European Unicorns are more goat-like.
