Zenith Beyond Eclipsing The Dragon's Rue (Working Title)

I keep having anxiety or panic attacks about it, but, my art is just sort of taking over.... I'm at a point where I can;t fight it anymore... and over the past few months, and especially since March, I'm really going through something...

Some of my old concept work is totally missing, or lost, or I haven;t found it, but I spent a long time scanning old stuff, including rough sketches, and unfinished doodles.

I wasn't sure what to name my story for years, since I first started the concept at least in 1997. It's changed titles a number of times, and I spent many hours at a time, and weeks, deciding on a title. What I came up with (this far) is probably this:

"Zenith Beyond Eclipsing The Dragon's Rue" (Working Title)

I was hoping to do some painting(s) today, but I need to wait for my spouse to get home because I don't know where the paint brushes are.
They will mostly be paintings or sky, landscapes, and clouds, all aerial stuff.
I might also need to get a 3D program eventually and mess around with it (even tho' I stink at that).



The 2 main characters are the dragon named Djehkäujaa, and Lively. But, there are other characters also.
Djehkäujaa is a dragon, but in a sizable chunk of the story she's a humanoid form.

 



I had originally intended this to be a feature film, and I wrote the first screenplay around 1999-2001 on my free time in Philadelphia, and sometimes in Delaware.

I've been redesigning and tweaking the story this year. I went in a somewhat more progressive direction in the themes in the film, in much the same way as Gene Roddenberry and Arthur C. Clark did in portraying what a world COULD BE LIKE, whether its the future, or even NOW. Or, what it COULD HAVE BEEN, and SHOULD HAVE BEEN. Not to be too cryptic...

It will be a big, grand, and picturesque fantasy, but also Sci-Fi. It will ALSO be an alternate world... meaning not this world, but a different version of our world, and far more fanciful... only not what it sounds like if you only read this... the landscapes will be VERY fanciful, colorful, and UNUSUAL.  I will also be including a different landscape of infrastructure, in a time of transition. That will include transportation, a new kind of "agriculture", energy, and other progressive concepts depicted either starting, in practice, or being built....

My villain/antagonist character, will pretty much the same as I'd originally written him in 1999.. it's incredibly ironic because when I first wrote him, in 1999, I felt he was FAR TO EXTREME that I was worried he would be too unbelievable... having said that, the politics of NOW (2016) have politicians that are FAR MORE EXTREME THAN HIM. I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD EVER SEE THE DAY! I'm still working on his new name right now because his original name I felt isn't "original" enough... I also need to develop him more... I don't have a real 'look" for him yet...



Another important character was the main love interest for Lively.

Mature Content

I was agonizing over this FOR YEARS. It was SO PAINFUL. Pain & anxiety like you would not even understand. I often felt guilty and depressed over it. I just COULD NOT DECIDE on how to make him.... then, I had a major breakthrough recently, and it was like a whole lot of weight off my chest. I realized I could actually do multiple characters, and there didn't need to be just one. Once I did that, this character seemed to develop a lot more, and I even have a name for him that I've FINALLY settled on!

Last year, I was playing with the idea of him especially on IMVU, and I had come up with Xingtao 星套.

But, I wasn't really satisfied with 星套 as the name, so I came up with 兴涛 (Xingtao), and then I wanted a surname for him, and I got it from the Feng Shen Ban (Yan Yi) of the dragon Kings of the 4 Seas which is: 敖 Ao.

So his full name is: 敖兴涛 Ao Xingtao

That was incredibly difficult to come up with!

Ever since I definitively named him, it was much easier to come up with his character.

I think I will have him change his hair a few times also. This was another major breakthrough I had over developing him. He also can be 2 distinct personality moods, 1 as an introvert, and the other as an extrovert, but also a mystique and an unknown aspect of him even to himself. He will also go through changes as the story go along, because I like the idea of a person progressing, or even digressing, or regressing, and overcoming pitfalls in life. I figure many persons could relate to a personality of someone that has screwed up, or overdone things in life, and had to learn difficult lessons, and actually come to a point in life where they want self improvement, when before they were reckless and selfish, and then the regret some decisions, and want to be more self controlled, refined, and humbled. (also known as maturity, or maturing)
I like characters that can be redeemed, or learn from their past, even if sometimes they get the lesson wrong a few times, or misinterpreted the conclusions...

I also think having other male characters makes it more interesting of a story dynamic, and a lot more believable...

 I also want to take much of the beginning content with Lively and take it to a more European style, because I don't like the way love or sexuality is done in North America or Asia.

I have so many concepts for that because it was intended as a series of shorts, or short stories, many with music, or musicals, others not so much.

There is also some bleed-through or overflow from some of the stuff from this project to/with my Dragon Project.
And, I also have another different story that I wrote a bit on that is somewhat similar to the Dragon Project called "Lively's Mini Unicorn". I have a few chapter already written a few years ago, and I have rewritten that many times also. Those I would also like to rewrite, some other time... it's also very cartoonish, and somewhat comical.

 

I'm just not really doing anything with this story right now.

I also wrote some concept music, and lyrics last month.
